ZIONSVILLE GALLERIES LAUNCH TRADE GROUP

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

December 3, 2010 (Zionsville) – Following more than four months of effort
by Zionsville art galleries to formally develop a business league, the
galleries announced today the formation of the Zionsville Art Gallery
Association, a trade group chartered to help the local businesses promote
the community’s strong fine arts scene regionally and nationally.

“We have a tremendous collection of art galleries here in Zionsville and
realized we needed to work collectively to accomplish our common business
objectives,” said Bob Salem, co-owner of Salem Art Gallery. “With the
formation of Z.A.G.A., we hope to leverage our marketing efforts to better
operate as a group and to coordinate our communications and interactions
with art patrons and buyers who come to Zionsville to view and buy art.”

Z.A.G.A. has launched with 10 member galleries. Beyond internal
communication and resource sharing, a big part of the strategic plan has
been being more accessible to consumers. “Starting Black Friday, we launched
expanded hours that include being open late on Fridays and Saturdays as well
as being open on Sundays,” said Barbara Jennings, owner of Corner Vise
Gallery and Frame Shop and Thomas Kinkade Zionsville Gallery.
* _Holiday Hours through December 23: _Tuesdays through Thursdays, 11 a.m.
to 6 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sundays, noon to 5
p.m.
* _Winter Hours through April 30:_ Tuesdays through Sundays, noon to 5
p.m.
_Most galleries are participating, with many offering extended hours
beyond those listed. _

“We’re excited about the future. Zionsville’s downtown experience is unique
and we hope our organization will have a positive impact on bringing art
enthusiasts both locally and nationally to the Village,” said John Watts,
co-owner of Watts Fine Art with his wife Shannon, the newest gallery in the
community. “We look forward to partnering with the Zionsville Merchant’s
Association, Zionsville Arts Initiative, Boone County Convention & Visitors
Bureau and Zionsville Chamber of Commerce to promote our community to
Indiana and beyond. We have a lot to discover.”
