The Rogue Scholar
I think if I had only one piece of advice I could give an entrepreneur just starting their careers it would be to become a Rogue Scholar.

The idea of owning your own education through non-traditional or unconventional means.

Ok, now you are asking yourself “what is a Rogue Scholar?”

A Rogue Scholar is a person so infatuated with his or her field, he or she devours information in it and at times, forces other people with rants of news and ideas of things to come.

A Rogue Scholar takes a CD player, an ipod and or walkman while at the local gym and gets a Rogue education. He or she goes to seminars, pulls down RSS feeds from subject matter experts, and surfs websites or newsletters in his or her area—maybe even attend Rainmakers University.

We have developed a subculture of Rainmakers earning their accreditation as Rogue Scholars. People who have dawned a new age of continued learning, development and education.

These “rogue scholars” as I call them with their books on tape, their audible.com subscriptions, guru website surfing, Amazon addicting entrepreneurs won’t get an official document of achievement.

They will however inherit their competitors clients, develop customers in niches not even identified and drive shift in entire market segments.

Did I mention they will be the next companies and entrepreneurs to shape our future?

Be careful of the person who has read all the books you have and is asking you for more while suggesting three to you. They just might be your boss in three years.
